Barracks

I have found that keeping barracks high enough to keep training costs reduced by 50% has worked pretty well for me. I also keep a few forts, raise my defense when I level, and only take the mines that I gain from attacking. I still make plenty of money, and I successfully defend against almost everyone that attacks me. 3  out of 4 found this valuable. Do you?

I only have barracks around when I need the temporary effect that they give. Otherwise I'd rather keep my land in 100% mines. Not too sure how the 75/25 ratio is going to be more cost effective than full mines as the extra 25% land in mines will pay off itself within 22 hours. If you are going to save and expand after 2-4 days, then surely full mines is the way to go. Unless you are planning to convert elites every hour which doesn't make sense. =p 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Check out my equations at the bottom to the "barracks cycling" strategy guide.

Given certain conditions, the saving made from half price troop, is greater than the money not gained from not having mines.

If you plan on having 100% mines, and tearing them down to build barracks for when you want to build troops, then that only becomes cost effective when the mines have paid for the cost for having them replaced with barracks (i.e. for automators, you'd have to wait over 24 hours between buying any troop if you want to make a profit on this method)
