my strategy
Nov 29 2007, 8:39 PM EST
personnally, what i did was build up my elite at 7000 acres so that i wouldnt be breached, land composition:30%forts, 70 % mines. then wait until i got enough money(first time was around 60 millions i think), then buy at 25.5 g/soldiers, destroy 30%mines, get 30% mine, 30% barracks, 30% forts, attack/attack/attack. i got up to 30 000 acres, destroyed back my barracks to mines, and voila! repeated it and got to 100 000 acres, and now again up to 200 000 acres. only problem: lots of downtime, not attacking. oh, and you should log on to cast alchemy as much as you can. (but dont log in every hour its useless, of course).

RE: my strategy

My strategy has pretty much been that of the "Bully" right from the beginning, but I have to say it really breaks down when you hit 300K acres. I'll wake up the the morning and buy a couple million troops, then spend a few hours bottom feeding players a third my size, getting 500 to 1000 acres per hit until I'm out of mana for spy, which leaves me with about a 20k to 50k (if I'm lucky) acre gain. Being a lvl-35 visionary, I rarely get retals, but I usually get 2 or 3 hits overnight by someone in the 1-million acre range, and every one of those hits costs me over 20k acres because I'm usually 'plentiful' on resources and have no barriers, forts, or defense to speak of (my defense is actually about 15 mil, which prevents most retals, but is worthless against bottom feeders). So basically, every day I'll get close to 300k acres, then get hit down to between 180k and 220k every night with just a handful of breaches, and then I'll spend about 3 days building up the army and working my way back to about 300k before getting blasted back down to the 200k mark again. I'm seriously thinking of converting to "Turtle" at this point, but leveling up is already so slow, and I like to play every day, so the turtle strategy doesn't hold much appeal to me. Has anyone found a way to overcome the problem I'm having?

RE: The Hidden Dragon - DraconXXX- (True Visionaries)

THE HIDDEN DRAGON
After reading the wiki's strategy section for VISIONARIES, Itried to practice the Bully type strategy which works n a way but is still a bit empirical. So read more on others heroes strategies. Generally, it's expected that other hereos shall try to reach a DPA of 75 (which it might not be possible for certain heroes' types like Warmonger or Slayer, they can only make up to 69 with an army all with "pikers"!)
Since the General is the most balanced hero and its elites have a 5/5 ratio for attacking and dfending, I based the following hypotethical scenario:- Acreage: 20,000 Stats: At=10/ Def=10 (No forts/ no training grounds) The result was that for an kingdom of this size, and based on the expected hourly income and upkeep, extremely it's required an army of 30,000 elites only to achieve DPA 75 in a sustainable manner. This gives us a total of Total Attacking Score of 1,650,000!
If a Visionary of the same acreage is attacked by this attacking score, and also you want to maximize your attack level, you would need the following: (* A kingdom of 20,000 acres run by a Visionary which is attacked by a kingdom of the same size run by a General) - Soldiers: 0 - Pikers: 0 - Knights: 111,250 - Defenders: 175,000
This proportion is sustainable since it can be upkept with the hourly income of the land at 75% mines and 25% barracks (so the prices of the army can be reduced to half!).
This will give us a kingdom with a defense score of 1,684,375 (enough to stop a General!) and a attacking score of 752,125 (enough to 'attack' anyone half your size (not just 1/3 size ones like a Bully!). This in theory can allow a Visionary to stay competitive and be able to play more actively (not just hiding as a Turtle).
