The Hyozan Reckoners
‘The iceberg travels upstream, choking it off at its source. The river runs dry, dead and forsaken, yet the iceberg endures. The river has made a terrible mistake and the hyozan now rises to destroy it.’
The Hyozan (translates to iceberg) is an alliance consisting of kingdoms known as reckoners which have vowed to look after each other no matter the cause under the Hyozan oath which they have taken.
‘We are free, bound only to each other. My life is yours, yours is mine. Harm one, harm all. The survivors must avenge. Whatever is taken from the Hyozan, the Hyozan recovers tenfold.’
Fellow reckoners could take it to themselves to avenge its members and retaliate towards the “takers” to reclaim what was taken.
Counter Policy
The Hyozan defines “chaining” as attacking the same kingdom more than thrice within a period of three days.
Any act of “chaining” by a kingdom towards a reckoner would immediately be considered an act of war and that kingdom would have “blood debt” towards the Hyozan.
Strike the top of the iceberg and the bottom will surface.’
All reckoners would see to that kingdom as an enemy and reckoning would be upon them.
‘The sun rises to burn the skies. The iceberg melts but is still as cold and dense to see another winter, ready to brave the sun once more.’
Enemies would be remembered for as long as it takes for their debts to be settled as what could not be finished now would be finished later. The Hyozan of Warbook has its own code of war to its enemies in settling their “blood debts”
‘We will torment you. We will scorch your lands, steal your riches, slaughter the men of your army and starve their families. We will destroy your castles, enslave your people and befoul their graves. We will do all this and the only way to avoid this is if we cannot find you.
We have found you’
Mess not with the Hyozan or reckoning would be upon you…
P.S. - This alliance is an adaptation from the Hyozan Reckoners from the ‘Magic: The Gathering’ Kamigawa cycle.
