Intermediate Guide

By Phillip Rock at http://warbookforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=121.0

Here you will find some helpful tips to help you expand and become one of the most powerful adversaries on WarBook.

If you haven't read the Beginners' Guide To A Powerful Character, then you should read it before reading this topic.

This specific topic is for those who have gotten past the low levels of WarBook, and are between 3k and 50k acres.

1) After you hit 3k, you need to get your defense score up. Again, don't spread thin. Get it to 75 times your acreage. To get a rough estimate of how many troops you need, take your acreage and multiply by 75. Take your unit of choice, and divide by the defense score of that unit. This is how many of that unit you will need to maintain 75 times your acreage in defense.

2) Alchemy. Again, use it. If you haven't the mana to use it, you should get the stat points to gain the amount of total mana necessary. See the next number for gaining experience quickly.

3) To gain land quickly, here is what you should do:

a) First off, don't hit the nearest person to you. Thats pointless. Find someone a little bigger right now. Maybe a few thousand acres bigger. Not much, but a little. Make sure you find a character level around you as well. Then you attack. The reason for attacking bigger opponents at this time, is that most of them do not have adequate defenses. Some of them will, but most don't. There is also a random factor when you attack a bigger kingdom, which gives you more and they lose a lot more men than they would normally. Also, don't hit someone too awful big. Thats not gonna be good for you when they log in and spend all the gold they are bound to have.

b) Don't attack with pike-men. Here is my reasoning: Picture 10 navy SEALS with automatic weapons. Now picture 100 ragged peasants with pitchforks. Who will win? In WarBook's case, pike-men are the peasants. They only have an attack of 1. They don't do well. It is better to have the units made to attack for attacking, than those made for defense. Plus, you lose less casualties if you don't attack with them. Again, an example. Rush 1000 peasants at a machine gun nest. Well, they might win, but a ton are going to die. Now, take 100 navy SEALS. Now, they might be few in number, but are better trained, and will take the same thing with fewer casualties. See my point?

4) The above works for when you need some land. But what about if you need some quick experience?

a) Search for a target at level 50 or 51 that has very few acres. This is the sign of an inactive account. Hit it, and its easy experience.

b) Find someone 3 levels higher than you, but at a smaller acreage, or just above yours. You should be able to break though, and get the maximum amount of experience for it.

5) Save your money somewhat. Don't spend as soon as you get. I know you are going to anyways. But, what happens if you get hit, and have no money to buy soldiers back? Well, you are screwed. Just save your money and buy soldiers in batches of 1k or 10k at a time.

6) Don't attack people in alliances, period. They will get someone in their alliance to retal on you. You may have an alliance, but it doesn't matter when your alliance is only a few members strong, and theirs has 1400 plus.
