Alliances are formal non-aggression pact agreements between multiple kingdoms. The initial cost is 1,000,000 gold coins, but the benefits are stability, support, and defence, especially in the larger alliances. In Round 1, only Trade Agreements and individual non-aggression pacts were possible. However, at the beginning of Round 2, the ability to create larger, more significant alliances was formally introduced, creating an entirely new aspect to an already intense and exciting game. Most alliances help train new members in some of the finer points of Warbook game play. Some alliances are created for the sole purpose of defence and training, while others are created in an attempt to destroy other alliances or specific kingdoms. Whatever the reason, joining an alliance ensures some sort of protection.
